Sara Insuasty Silva

Sara's musical journey commenced in the vibrant country of Colombia. At the age of 10, she first discovered her passion for music, initially entranced by the world of the piano. Three years later, at the age of 13, she found herself captivated by the cello. This pivotal choice marked the beginning of an extraordinary musical journey.

Sara's unwavering dedication and talent were evident throughout her academic journey. She pursued her undergraduate degree in Music with a specialized focus on the cello at Eafit University in Colombia. Her exceptional academic performance earned her coveted scholarships from both Eafit University and the Iberacademy Philharmonic, a testament to her remarkable commitment to musical excellence.Sara ventured to the United States to futher her education and pursue a master's degree in music performance at the prestigious Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Sara's musical prowess has graced the stages of various orchestras, including Iberacademy Philharmonic, Medellín Philharmonic, Eafit Symphony, Longy Orchestra, and Master Sinofonia Chamber Orchestra. Her passion for music has also taken her to renowned music festivals, such as Forum Musikae, Livorno Music Festival, Festicello, and Femusc.

Beyond her orchestral achievements, Sara has displayed remarkable talent in chamber music. She achieved an impressive second place in a chamber music competition at Eafit University as part of a piano and cello duo. In 2020, she left an indelible mark by premiering the composition "Wondering" by the composer Xiaoxi Zhang at Longy School of Music. This performance, as a trio with flute and piano, showcased her extraordinary chamber music abilities. The following year, the same trio graced the stage to premiere the composition "The Power of Art" by the composer Patrick Wuo, further solidifying Sara's reputation as a chamber music virtuoso.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, Ms. Sara is a passionate and dedicated educator. She shares her love for the cello and piano with students of all ages, aiming to foster a natural, enjoyable, and responsible learning experience. Her teaching expertise spans a diverse range of ages, from nurturing young talents as young as five years old to guiding enthusiastic adults on their musical journeys.
