Hugo Aguayo is an accomplished and passionate music teacher with a BA in classical guitar earned with honors from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Eager to expand his horizons, he pursued
specialized studies in flamenco guitar at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.

During his time in the vibrant music scene of Los Angeles, Hugo performed at renowned venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, REDCAT, The Broad Stage, Bing Theatre (LACMA), Skirball Cultural Center, and Grand Performances. His musical adventures took him overseas to Japan and the Cordoba Guitar Festival in Spain. He also had the honor of performing at the Flamenco Festival in Albuquerque, the Strathmore Guitar Festival in Maryland, and the Guitar Foundation of America in Los Angeles.

With over 15 years of experience in music education, Hugo has demonstrated a deep commitment to teaching. His teaching journey has led him to diverse educational settings, from traditional K-12 schools to specialized programs for students with special needs such as the Eden Alpert Therapeutic Music Program at Vista del Mar where he helped foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. A notable achievement at Vista del Mar was helping curate and run the performing arts showcase at the Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center that featured many of his students.
 

Beyond guitar, Hugo imparts his knowledge and experience in bass, ukulele, and drums, offering a well-rounded musical education to his students.
