Karen Chen
A native of Taiwan, Ms. Karen Kuei-Kuan Chen is a professional piano performer and teacher. She started her piano studies at the age of 5 and graduated with a Bachelor degree of Arts in Piano Performance from Chinese Culture University in Taipei, Taiwan. She also earned her Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Conservatoire Européen de Musique de Paris in Paris, France.
Ms. Chen has won numerous awards including the Silver Medal of the Claude Kahn International Piano Competition of France, First Prize in the Piano Concerto Competition Of Chinese Culture University, and First Prize in the Taiwan Area Music Competition.
Between 1992 and 1997, Ms. Chen was the Piano Lecturer at Chinese Culture University. As a Piano Lecturer, she has also performed in solo and chamber concerts in France and Taiwan. In 1997, she moved to the United States and has been teaching since then. She was also invited to be the judge of the United States International Music Competition (CMTANC Youth Music Competition) in 2004 and 2005.
Ms. Chen has been teaching piano for over 20 years. She is currently a member of MTAC (Music Teachers' Association of California). Her students attend MTAC CM (Certificate of Merit) from Primary to Advanced Level. She enjoys teaching and helping her students progress in their musical education.
