Clara chan

Born in Hong Kong, Clara Chan started her studies in music at the age of 6. She is currently a final-year undergraduate at the San Jose State University with high proficiency in piano, voice, and flute. She is going to obtain a Music Education degree with a minor in psychology in 2023.

 

In the past year, Clara has performed with SJSU’s premium choir, the Choraliers at Carnegie Hall and at the American Choral Director’s Association Convention in Long Beach. The ensemble is also scheduled to tour in Spain and Portugal next summer. Having won several awards at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival with piano and flute solo, Clara is also an experienced piano accompanist for ensemble rehearsals, exams and competitions.


Clara enjoys teaching both private and group lessons. She is patient and encouraging with students at a wide range of levels. Having years of experience with the ABRSM graded exams, she encourages her students to participate in performances and music examinations.

 

Clara is now a collegiate member of National Association for Music Education, American Choral Director’s Association, and a nation-wide music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon.
