Mei-Yi Wang

 

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Mei-Yi Wang is a passionate pianist, collaborator, and educator, and is currently a doctoral candidate at Arizona State University. She previously earned a Master of Music in Piano Performance from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan and a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Bowling Green State University.

Mei-Yi is an active solo pianist and collaborative musician. In 2018, she performed Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Bowling Green Philharmonia as the winner of the BGSU Concerto Competition. During her studies at BGSU and ASU, she has worked as a collaborative pianist in both instrumental and vocal studios. Mei-Yi is also an experienced choral pianist, with many years of experience accompanying and performing with choirs, including school choirs and local church choirs.

 

As a dedicated educator, Mei-Yi has many years of experience in piano instruction, as well as teaching group classes. She served as an instructor at the BGSU Summer Music Institute for two consecutive years, in 2018 and 2019. In 2015, she worked as a music student teacher at Taipei Jingmei Girls’ High School in Taiwan. She also served as a piano teaching assistant for class piano at National Chiao Tung University.
