Amelia Ortiz
Amelia Ortiz was born in San Antonio, Texas, and moved to the Bay Area when she turned 17. Her musical journey began at the age of 10 with violin lessons, and she later expanded her skills to include guitar, developing a deep passion for both instruments. Before moving to the Bay Area, Amelia was a member of YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio) ensembles, where she gained valuable orchestral experience. After relocating, she continued her musical growth by participating in small ensembles throughout her college years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance, with a minor in Psychology, from Saint Mary’s College of California in May 2024.
Amelia discovered her love for teaching early on, and it has been her mission to share the joy of music with students of all ages. She has experience teaching private violin and guitar lessons, with a special focus on personalized instruction. Amelia prepares her students for performances, and personal musical goals. Her approach to teaching is built on patience, encouragement, and fostering a genuine connection with each student.
As a performer, Amelia has also participated in various concerts, recitals, and community events such as banquets and weddings. Her versatile background allows her to connect with diverse audiences, whether in an intimate recital setting or a larger community event.
Having taught since 2023, Amelia has developed a teaching style that is both supportive and inspiring, helping students of all backgrounds to find joy in their musical journey. Her lessons are characterized by a warm and engaging atmosphere, where students feel motivated to grow as musicians and look forward to each new lesson.
